Mary Stuart Masterson was born on June 28, 1966. She is an American actress widely recognized for her contributions to the entertainment industry. Masterson was born in New York City, New York, to a family deeply immersed in the world of acting. 

Her father, Peter Masterson, was a renowned actor, writer, and director. Her mother, Carlin Glynn, also had a successful acting career. Growing up in such an environment, Masterson developed a passion for the performing arts from an early age.

She attended Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center as a teenager, with fellow actors Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Cryer.

Mary Stuart Masterson began her acting career in the late 1970s. She made her film debut at the tender age of nine in “The Stepford Wives” (1975). Her early performances showcased her innate talent and dedication, setting the stage for a promising career ahead. She then gained recognition through notable roles in films like “Heaven Help Us” (1985) and “Some Kind of Wonderful” (1987).

However, it was her portrayal of Idgie Threadgoode in the critically acclaimed film “Fried Green Tomatoes” (1991) that catapulted Masterson to stardom. Her portrayal earned widespread praise for her powerful and emotionally charged performance.

Despite her success in the entertainment industry, Mary Stuart Masterson has maintained a relatively private personal life. She was married to George Carl Francisco from 1990 to 1992.  She later tied the knot with filmmaker Damon Santostefano, a union that lasted from 2000 to 2004.  

Masterson married actor Jeremy Davidson in 2006.  The couple met while working together on the stage production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in 2004.  She had their first child, a son named Phineas Bee, in October 2009. The family expanded further when Masterson gave birth to twins in August 2011, a daughter named Clio and a son named Wilder.
