Easy Broiled Teriyaki Salmon

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 7 minutes
Marinate 30 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced (for garnish)
  • sesame seeds optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until well combined to make the marinade.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the teriyaki marinade over the salmon, ensuring that all sides are coated. Marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.
  • Preheat your broiler on high heat. Make sure the oven rack is positioned about 6 inches below the broiler element.
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
  • Remove the salmon from the marinade and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Reserve the marinade for basting.
  • Broil the salmon for about 6-8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. While broiling, baste the salmon with the reserved marinade halfway through cooking.
  • Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and transfer it to a serving platter.
  • Garnish the broiled teriyaki salmon with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
  • Serve the salmon hot with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables.

Notes

Note: Keep a close eye on the salmon while broiling to prevent burning, as cooking times may vary depending on your broiler and the thickness of the fillets. Adjust the broiling time accordingly.
