In a mixing bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until well combined to make the marinade.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the teriyaki marinade over the salmon, ensuring that all sides are coated. Marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.
Preheat your broiler on high heat. Make sure the oven rack is positioned about 6 inches below the broiler element.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
Remove the salmon from the marinade and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Reserve the marinade for basting.
Broil the salmon for about 6-8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. While broiling, baste the salmon with the reserved marinade halfway through cooking.
Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and transfer it to a serving platter.
Garnish the broiled teriyaki salmon with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Serve the salmon hot with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables.
Notes
Note: Keep a close eye on the salmon while broiling to prevent burning, as cooking times may vary depending on your broiler and the thickness of the fillets. Adjust the broiling time accordingly.
